mini footstool ideas

Last year, my mom found the most fabulous tiny antique asian-inspired mahogany footstool at an antique store while in NYC. She has since brought it home, recovered it in a fabulous silk velvet leopard and it sits under her coffee table.

I love the unusual shape so much, that I had our talented carpenter replicate it. He did an amazing job!!

I am now in the process of choosing the perfect fabric and crazy paint color that will work perfectly when tucked under my vintage glass/brass coffee table.

Here is what I was up to last night...
Decisions, decisions, decisions... nailheads, no nailheads...piping..cording trim...ribbon trim with spaced nailheads. When you have a hyper-creative mind like me, these things are never easy you see...

taupe/charcoal on natural linen with "amethyst cream" frame...

cut velvet leopard with an emerald-colored frame of some sort...

a brown/gold zebra with a Tangelo frame...

I am not even close to making a decision :)
